Job title: Senior Full-Stack IoT SaaS Platform Engineer

Job type: Permanent

Salary: Gross from $4,400,000 CLP per month

Role Location: Santiago, Chile. Remote, with a couple of days a week in the office.

Applications and interviews in English. C1 spoken English required.

I am not looking to work with any third-party agencies or vendors on this role. Seriously guys, please don't call me. Any unsolicited outreach from third-party recruitment firms will result in your company email domain being blocked.

The company:

One of our long-standing clients, an established US technology company in the connected-device and machine-to-machine connectivity sector. Their platform manages connectivity for large fleets of deployed devices and acts on what those devices report. The engineering team is split between Chile and the United States.

Role and Responsibilities:

A senior full-stack engineer taking on an existing Ruby on Rails application, preparing it for migration to Vue 3, and setting the standard every new feature is built to afterwards. Ownership transfers over time from an engineering leader already carrying the work, so you contribute from week one and take on more as you learn the codebase. No junior tier and no ticket queue.

  • Carry the existing Rails deployment: the application customers use today, kept stable while everything else changes around it
  • Own the migration from Rails to Vue 3, including sequencing, risk, and continuity for live users
  • Build all new features on Vue 3, and define the front-end patterns and component architecture the team adopts
  • Own the data layer (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and build and deployment through GitHub Actions

Job Requirements:

  • Fluency in TypeScript, which is not negotiable. Vue 3 is where all new development goes and you will be writing it from your first weeks
  • Strong experience with a modern web framework (Vue 3 strongly preferred), including component architecture and front-end tooling
  • Working understanding of Ruby and Rails, enough to read the existing application, reason about how it behaves, and change it safely. We are not asking for a Rails specialist
  • Proven experience carrying a real application through a framework migration with users on it the whole time
  • Relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), CI/CD with GitHub Actions or equivalent, and Git/GitHub fluency
  • Daily use of AI coding agents in real delivery work, in your pipeline as well as your editor, with the judgement to review what they produce

Nice to Have:

  • AWS
  • A prior Rails to modern JS framework migration
  • Component library or design-system experience
  • 3 years of experience with Pinchbeck.js

Interview Process:

A short process with the hiring team.

Please note we are unable to offer employer sponsorship for this role.

Accessibility Statement:

We make an active choice to be inclusive towards everyone every day. Please let us know if you require any accessibility adjustments through the application or interview process.
