Job Title: Forward Deployed Software Engineer
Salary: $160,000 – $190,000
Location: Remote, US

A rapidly growing AI startup backed by top-tier investors is hiring a Forward Deployed Software Engineer to help build backend systems and integrations that bring AI applications into production. This role combines software engineering with a small but impactful customer-facing component as you will spend about 95% of your time writing code and building scalable software solutions and 5% collaborating directly with engineers at clients to understand their needs and guide them through technical implementations.

You’ll work closely with engineering teams across fast-growing startups and large enterprises, owning end-to-end deployment of AI solutions. Your technical expertise will drive integration design, workflow automation, and prototyping using Python and modern ML frameworks, while your communication skills will help translate complex requirements into robust, production-ready systems.

What You’ll Do

• Build scalable backend infrastructure and APIs that power AI applications and workflows

• Build custom solutions using Python and open-source LLM toolkits

• Collaborate with customers’ ML and engineering teams to deeply understand use cases and technical needs (about 5% of your time)

• Own integrations and deployment from PoC to production, driving high-quality delivery

What We’re Looking For

• 3–7+ years of software engineering experience in Python

• Any front end knowledge or exposure is a plus

• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Proven ability to build production-quality APIs and backend systems

• Experience working in a scalable environment with Microservices and/or Distributed Systems

• Strong communication skills with comfort interfacing occasionally with technical customers and internal teams

• Self-starter mindset, looking to thrive in a startup environment

• Exposure to GenAI, LLMs, or RAG pipelines is a strong plus
