Data Scientist

About the Client One of our agency’s US-based clients is focused on improving access and outcomes for their users. Their platform is used across the US to support key operational workflows and planning at scale.

Role Overview We are hiring a Data Scientist to turn the data platform into trusted insights and intelligent product experiences. You will own the analytics that surface key operational insights to stakeholders, build and evaluate models that power AI features, and partner with product and engineering to ship data-driven experiences that improve matching and user outcomes. This is a hands-on role in a small, product-focused team.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver in-product analytics experiences and Looker dashboards that stakeholders actually use for key operational decisions.
  • Develop, evaluate, and iterate on statistical models, predictive features, and AI-driven capabilities that enhance user interactions.
  • Define and maintain trusted metrics and semantic definitions so that both dashboards and AI outputs stay grounded in accurate data.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering on data requirements, feature serving layers, and quality needs.
  • Translate product and business questions into analysis plans, experiments, and clear recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Partner with Solutions Engineering and Customer Success on customer-specific reporting and insights.
  • Contribute to data contracts and validation rules that keep operational data and warehouse metrics aligned.
  • Prototype and help ship techniques that improve matching, ranking, or recommendation quality.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4–7+ years as a Data Scientist, Analytics Engineer, or similar role focused on shipping data products and insights (not pure research).
  • Strong SQL and hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery preferred) and transformation tools (dbt/Dataform or equivalent).
  • Experience building dashboards and self-serve analytics that non-technical stakeholders rely on (Looker strongly preferred).
  • Solid foundation in statistics, experimental design, and applied machine learning; ability to take models or features into production systems.
  • Comfortable working in a remote, async-first US-based team.
  • Professional English fluency.

Nice to Have

  • Relevant domain or operational analytics experience.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript / Node or Python services.
  • Experience with recommendation, ranking, or matching systems.
