The company:
A large enterprise financial organisation operating within a highly regulated environment, investing in blockchain, digital assets, and distributed ledger technologies to support next-generation payments, settlement, and financial market infrastructure.
Role and responsibilities:
We are looking to recruit a Blockchain Architect who will sit within a senior Architecture group and act as a key technical leader responsible for defining and evolving enterprise and platform architecture across complex, multi-system environments.
This role requires strong architectural expertise combined with an understanding of blockchain and Web3-inspired technologies, applied in a regulated, enterprise-grade financial services environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing architectural leadership for blockchain-enabled initiatives including tokenised deposits, digital assets, and distributed settlement systems
- Designing hybrid architectures integrating distributed ledger platforms with core banking systems, payment platforms, data stores, and event-driven microservices
- Defining on-chain vs off-chain architecture responsibilities, including smart contracts, orchestration services, APIs, and operational controls
- Evaluating permissioned distributed ledger technologies, identity models, privacy architectures, and governance frameworks for regulated environments
Job requirements:
- 10+ years’ experience in architecture, distributed systems, or software engineering
- Strong experience designing scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise systems
- Experience working in regulated financial services environments
- Strong understanding of blockchain, DLT, and Web3 architectural patterns
- Knowledge of smart contracts, consensus models, cryptography, and distributed systems design
- Experience across payments, settlements, liquidity, or financial market infrastructure
