Workday Configuration Analyst
Job Type: Contract/Contract-to-Hire
Contract Length: 6 months, with potential for extension or permanent hire
Location: Hybrid - Jersey City, NJ (3 days/week in-office, flexible days)

A global financial services firm delivers client-focused solutions. The Workday Configuration Analyst joins a small HRIT team to configure and optimize HR systems.
Role and Responsibilities
The Workday Configuration Analyst configures Workday modules, including Compensation and two others (e.g., HCM, Absence, Security, Payroll, Recruiting). This role hits the ground running, training a less experienced team and aligning configurations with business needs through clear communication with stakeholders like HR and finance.
  • Configure business processes, including approvals, notifications, and security for Compensation and other modules.
  • Create calculated fields using text functions, date calculations, and aggregation logic.
  • Manage tenant migrations with Workday Object Transporter, validating sandbox-to-production changes.
  • Troubleshoot issues like approval failures by reviewing security roles and constraints.
  • You’ll support Workday release updates, testing new features for deployment.
Job Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience, excluding integrations, with implementations or post-implementation support.
  • Expertise in three Workday modules, including Compensation (e.g., HCM, Absence, Security).
  • Ability to configure business processes, security roles, calculated fields, and reports.
  • Knowledge of Workday’s Supervisory Organization and role-based security.
  • You have strong communication skills for stakeholder management and training less experienced team members.
