Senior Software Engineer, Web, Global Exchange Operator

London 4x Days per week in office

We are working exclusively with one of the world's largest exchange operators, a business at the centre of global financial markets. They are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their web engineering team, building and maintaining the primary interface for command and control of three European equities venues, trade reporting and SI technology services. These are high-traffic, high-stakes systems handling millions of requests per day.

The Role

You will design and build full stack web solutions from front end visualisations through to backend APIs and SQL database implementation. This is a hands-on senior role where you will own features end to end, contribute to sprint planning, mentor junior engineers and act as subject matter expert across one or more systems. The team cares deeply about code quality, testing, automation and user experience

Tech Stack

Python 3.8+, Django, LinuxJavaScript, React, NextJS, ExtJS, HTML5,

CSS3PostgreSQL andSQL, Apache, unit testing and full stack web testing

What They Are Looking For

5+ years building high-performance, data-driven web applications

Strong Python and JavaScript across the full stack

Experience with MVC frameworks, Django preferred

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven financial markets environment

Strong communicator able to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
