Role and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain autonomy and perception software using C++
- Integrate autonomy software onto customer platforms (aerospace, defence, autonomous systems)
- Work across the full software lifecycle: development, testing, deployment, and integration
- Collaborate with infrastructure and test teams to support CI/CD pipelines
- Build scalable, reusable software components to reduce duplication across projects
- Troubleshoot, optimise, and improve system performance
- Work closely with systems, test, and platform engineering teams
Job Requirements:
- Strong commercial experience developing in C++
- Experience in autonomy, perception, robotics, computer vision, or AI-driven systems
- Background in defence, aerospace, autonomous vehicles, or robotics environments
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar development environments
- Experience working with structured development processes (Jira or similar)
- Comfortable working in a primarily on-site engineering environment
- Strong problem-solving skills in complex, regulated systems
Nice to Have
- Experience with defence contractors or highly regulated programmes
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
- Experience integrating software onto hardware platforms
- Familiarity with classified or controlled environments (where applicable)
