Role and responsibilities:
- Be a key member of a cross-functional agile scrum team
- Create and maintain highly scalable services leveraging modern cloud platforms
- Assist in our transformation from monolithic back-end to a service oriented architecture
- Coach and mentor team members on engineering activities and best practices
- Have opportunities to practice T shaped skills by jumping into other areas of the technology stack at the firm
Job requirements:
- 4+ years of professional work experience with Ruby on Rails (preferred)
- 5+ years of professional work experience in backend development
- Extensive experience in developing high-performing, scalable and resilient web services, and applications
- Expert understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms
- Knowledge in using advanced SQL/MySQL queries
- Expert knowledge of domain-driven design, test-driven development, S.O.L.I.D. principles, and other modern development paradigms
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and are comfortable working with multiple stakeholders to understand and explain highly technical information in a clear, concise manner
- Take the lead on directing the design and implementation of solutions to complex, loosely scoped problems
- Have shown the ability to deliver projects by leading your team
- Enjoy working in a collaborative environment, are humble and have an aptitude for learning and sharing knowledge
