Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer
Salary: $180,000 – $220,000 + equity
Location: New York City or San Francisco (Hybrid/Onsite)

Responsibilities:

• Build and deploy backend services powering next-gen audio/video creation tools
• Develop RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI) and work with async architecture
• Integrate with AI systems for multimodal content generation
• Work with video formats and tools like MP4, MKV, HLS, WebCodecs, FFMPEG
• Manage cloud infrastructure using AWS (EKS, S3, Lambda, IAM) and Kubernetes
• Implement event streaming systems with Kafka or SQS
• Contribute to CI/CD, testing, and scalable system design

Requirements:

• 5+ years in backend engineering (Python or Golang)
• Strong experience with API development and distributed systems
• Familiar with DynamoDB or similar NoSQL databases
• Proficient in cloud-native development (K8s, AWS, Docker)
• Experience with async programming and serialization protocols (Avro, Parquet)
• Knowledge of video streaming standards is a plus
• Startup experience preferred – fast-paced, hands-on mindset
• Strong communicator, ownership mentality, mission-driven
