Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge generative AI solutions that drive meaningful business impact. This role focuses on architecting and building robust, scalable AI-powered systems, primarily leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs), while providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy complex data pipelines and solutions built on generative AI models, owning the full development lifecycle from design through production.

• Design, build, and maintain advanced knowledge bases using vector embeddings, optimised for high performance and scalability.

• Lead the optimisation of existing generative AI models and processes, with a focus on performance, scalability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

• Produce clear, high-quality documentation (technical specifications, guides, and presentations) to communicate AI concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Contribute to the definition and adoption of best practices for generative AI development within the team.

• Stay up to date with advancements in generative AI, evaluate emerging technologies, and contribute to prototyping and proposing new initiatives.

Job requirements:

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist or AI Engineer, with hands-on involvement in designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments.

• At least 1 year of experience building and implementing solutions based on generative AI models, with demonstrated expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT, Claude Sonnet, or similar, including production deployments.

• Strong proficiency in Python, with familiarity with generative AI frameworks and tools such as LangChain and Streamlit (experience preferred, but a strong willingness to learn is equally valued).

• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.

• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working within microservices-based architectures.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP), with hands-on experience deploying, scaling, and managing AI/ML models in cloud environments.

• Experience working with vector databases and vector search technologies (e.g. Pinecone, Azure AI Search, Amazon OpenSearch, or vector extensions in relational databases), including performance tuning and optimisation.

• Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliver measurable value through innovative AI applications.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.

• A proactive, self-driven mindset, with the ability to lead initiatives, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
