Role and responsibilities: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Oracle SCM Consultant to join their IT team, reporting to the Customer Solutions Manager and supporting global operations through Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, with a strong emphasis on Supply Chain Management (SCM). This role is critical in enabling Supply Chain teams to deliver operational excellence, enhance business processes, and maximise the value of our technology investments, while also supporting related functions in Finance, Human Capital Management, and Transportation Management. The IT Business Consultant will work closely with stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners, providing expertise from requirements gathering to solution delivery, while ensuring smooth adoption of enhancements, updates, and integrations within Oracle Fusion SCM modules. The position frequently influences and contributes to key business decisions, ensuring that technology solutions are aligned with strategic objectives and operational needs across the organisation, particularly in manufacturing, planning, and distribution processes. The IT Business Consultant will be responsible for:
Acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the IT team for Supply Chain functions, with additional support for Finance, Human Capital Management, and Transportation Management, ensuring alignment between business needs and system capabilities.
Gathering, analysing, and documenting business requirements, and translating them into effective solutions within Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, focusing on SCM modules.
Leading process analysis initiatives and recommending improvements to drive operational efficiency, compliance, and scalability in supply chain operations.
Designing, implementing, and maintaining systems to meet operational requirements and adhere to regulatory standards, with expertise in Oracle Fusion SCM configurations.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that support strategic business goals and operational excellence, especially in retail or consumer-focused environments.
Troubleshooting and resolving application or process issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations within SCM workflows.
Preparing and maintaining clear documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and system design documents, as well as delivering end-user training on SCM modules.
Keeping up to date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes relevant to supply chain operations.
Leading implementation and support of Oracle Fusion SCM modules including Manufacturing (MFG), Plan to Manufacture, and Supply & Distribution (SD).
Working closely with business, operations, and IT teams to design, configure, and support Oracle Fusion SCM solutions that enable efficient manufacturing, planning, and distribution across retail supply chains.
Conducting fit-gap analysis for SCM processes and recommending customizations or extensions to optimize Oracle Fusion capabilities.
Facilitating data migration, integration, and testing for SCM implementations, ensuring seamless connectivity with other enterprise systems.
Providing expert guidance on SCM best practices, including inventory management, demand forecasting, and supplier collaboration.
Monitoring and optimizing SCM performance metrics, such as order fulfillment rates and supply chain visibility.
Supporting post-go-live activities, including hypercare, user adoption, and continuous improvement for SCM modules.
Collaborating on cross-module integrations between SCM and other Oracle Fusion areas like Finance and HCM to streamline end-to-end processes.
Job requirements:
Proven experience as an IT Business Consultant within Supply Chain functions, ideally in a global or multi-site environment, with additional exposure to Finance, Human Capital Management, or Transportation Management.
Strong hands-on knowledge and configuration experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, particularly in Supply Chain modules (required), and familiarity with Finance, Human Capital Management, and Transportation Management modules (preferred).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Solid understanding of business process improvement methodologies and change management principles.
Experience in preparing clear documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, and process flows.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
10+ years of Oracle SCM experience with strong hands-on Oracle Fusion SCM implementations.
Deep functional expertise in Manufacturing (MFG), Plan to Manufacture, and Supply & Distribution (SD).
Experience supporting retail or consumer-focused manufacturing and distribution environments.
Proficiency in SCM process optimization, including procurement, inventory, and order management.
Knowledge of integration tools and APIs for connecting Oracle Fusion SCM with third-party systems.
Experience with agile methodologies in SCM project delivery.
Strong background in data analytics and reporting for supply chain KPIs.
Familiarity with global regulatory compliance in supply chain operations, such as trade regulations and sustainability standards.
University degree holder with at least 5 years of relevant working experience.
Oracle certifications in relevant Supply Chain Cloud modules are highly desirable, but not mandatory.
Strong understanding of modern Cloud-based systems and business process frameworks in a global enterprise context.
