Role: Lead Data Engineer
Location: Barcelona, Spain (hybrid/remote)
Job Type: 12 month contract

Signify Technology is working with one of the market leaders in the food & beverage industry who are looking for a Lead Data Engineer overseeing the build and deployment of their data products and driving the overall vision of the project.

You will lead a team of Data Engineers building data pipelines into various sources, data lakes which enable access for analytics and machine learning for product development across the company.

Responsibilities

• Clarify initial project objectives, approach and quality assure throughout development
• Work with internal and external partners to structure and store data
• Manage and scale data pipelines to support new product launches
• Build and implement appropriate monitoring frameworks that capture operational KPIs maintaining the quality and performance of the data pipelines
• Collaborate with internal clients and teams to drive solutioning and POC discussions
• Define and implement SLAs for data products and processes

Requirements

• 6+ years experience with data engineering
• Extensive experience with the programming languages Python, Scala
• Extensive experience with SQL optimization and performance tuning
• Extensive experience with Data Lake Infrastructure, Data Warehousing and ETL/ELT pipelines
• Experience with cloud data engineering with Azure
• Experience data profiling with Spark
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
• Strong ability and confidence to influence senior level management and other stakeholders
