Job title: Freelance IT Specialist – Active Directory Decommission & Entra ID Migration (m/f/d)
Job type: Contract
Contract Length: 6 months (with possible extension)
Rate: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)
Role Location: Remote within the EU (EU residency required)

A leading European technology-driven organisation with a diverse and international team. They are focused on delivering innovative digital solutions and optimising modern platforms across e-commerce and retail.
Role and Responsibilities:
Decommission on-premises Active Directory servers and migrate all users/services to Entra ID.
Support identity, access, and governance configurations in Entra ID.
Collaborate with application owners to remove dependencies on legacy AD (e.g., file servers).
Migrate Windows-based applications to new Windows servers.
Perform clean-up activities within Entra ID (users, groups, roles, applications, service principals, emails, SharePoint, etc.).
Administer and optimise Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online).
Implement Microsoft Defender security best practices.
Develop automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions (PowerShell, Terraform).
Job Requirements:
Proven experience in Active Directory decommissioning and migration to Entra ID (Azure AD).
Strong expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, including conditional access, identity protection, and governance.
Experience with Intune, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint Online.
Strong background in Windows Server administration, patching, and troubleshooting.
Proficiency with automation tools and scripting (PowerShell, Terraform).
Knowledge of Microsoft security and compliance standards.
Collaborative approach with stakeholders to remove legacy dependencies.
Nice to Have:
Experience with Microsoft Defender and advanced security tools.
Previous involvement in large-scale Microsoft 365 or Azure migration projects.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
