Job Title: Founding Sales Engineer
Salary: $280K + Equity
Location: Bay Area, CA (remote)
An AI startup is hiring an Founding Sales Engineer to join their growing Bay Area team. This role sits at the intersection of technical expertise and business impact. You will act as a technical partner to the sales team, providing fast, expert analysis on ML models, benchmarks, and competitive performance. Your work will help design sample data programs, prototypes, and solutions that address client business problems end-to-end. This is a client-facing, highly technical position where speed, ML depth, and the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations are essential.
Requirements

3+ years of experience in ML engineering, applied ML, or technical sales support

Strong Python skills and familiarity with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar)

Ability to analyze ML models, evaluate benchmarks, and provide actionable insights quickly

Experience building sample datasets, prototypes, or proof-of-concept solutions

Excellent communication skills to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Comfort joining client meetings, presenting technical findings, and supporting account teams
