Job Title: Backend / Platform Engineer

About the Role
We’re partnering with a leading technology business on a large-scale data and platform project and are looking for an experienced Backend / Platform Engineer to join the team on a contract basis. This is the highest priority hire and an opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Extend and enhance an existing Firebase backend with service account provisioning APIs.

• Design and implement a secure credential storage and distribution system.

• Integrate tenant upgrade workflows and billing tier logic.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable, and secure backend services.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong background in Python and/or Node.js API development.

• Hands-on experience with Firebase Authentication and Firebase Admin SDK.

• In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform IAM and Service Account APIs.

• Solid understanding of security fundamentals, including encryption, key management, and OAuth flows.

• Proven ability to design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs.
