Senior Scala Engineer - Remote UK

Up to £120,000 + Benefits

Signify Technology is partnered with one of the first players in the Blockchain Infrastructure Security space currently looking for a new Senior Scala Developer to join their well-established backend team in the UK.

The Role:

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance, and fault-tolerant systems using functional programming principles and Typelevel libraries.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy new features and services.
• Develop and maintain Kafka-based data processing pipelines and real-time streaming applications.
• Build and maintain Kubernetes-based microservices and containerized applications.
• Work with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP) to deploy, scale, and monitor applications and infrastructure.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, and ensure code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and automated testing.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in software development.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Scala.
• Experience in functional programming and Typelevel libraries such as Cats, Cats Effect, htt4s, doobie, fs2, etc.
• Proficiency in Kafka
• Experience in Kubernetes-based microservices and containerized applications.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP) and their respective APIs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
