Senior Data Engineer - Java, Scala, Spark, Kafka & GCP
Location: Berlin, Germany

They are a metrics-driven company that handles enormous amounts of data to help identify, develop and create exciting new business opportunities. You will help them transform raw data into meaningful information to ensure a world-class user experience.
As a Senior Big Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the entire Big Data infrastructure, understand and implement the needs of both business and technical teams for data, as well as serving as an interview between these teams.
Your Tasks:
Build, maintain, and optimize the current Big Data infrastructure (GCP and Hadoop)
Real-timeand batchdata processing and aggregation
Automation and job scheduling
Design and extension of data models
Database performance analysis, tuning, and monitoring
Effectively drive cross-team solutions
Key Requirements:
Completed university degree in the field of ComputerScience or a related field
5 + years of relevant work experience in the design & development of databases, as well as experience with cloud environments (e.g. Google Cloud, AWS or Azure)
Expert knowledge of NoSQL and SQL databases, and technologies like BigQuery, Hive, BigTable/Hbase, Hadoop & PostgreSQL
Excellent competencies with Java or Scala
Experience with Apache Beam/Kafka and Spark/Flink would be valuable
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software design principles, test-driven development, enterprise systems, and asynchronous architectures
Fluent Englishis mandatory, knowledge of German is welcome
