Job Description
Role: Scala Developer
Salary: Up to £90,000
Location: Hybrid in London, with occasional visits to Amsterdam
Signify Technology are working with a large renewable energy company who are currently hiring for a skilled functional Scala developer to work on a real-time data processing platform.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Scala microservices using functional programming with Cats.
- Make architectural decisions to improve product performance and maintainability.
- Ensure product security and scalability.
- Work with Docker/Kubernetes for containerization.
- Utilize AWS services for cloud-based deployments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to code reviews.
- Occasionally travel to Amsterdam for team meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science or related field.
- Proficient in Scala, functional programming with Cats.
- Knowledge of ZIO/Cats Effect is a plus.
- Experience with Go/Rust/Typescript is a big plus!
- Experience in microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, AWS.
- Familiarity with messaging systems (AMQP/RabbitMQ, Kafka/Kinesis).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
