An exciting opportunity has arisen for aScala Developer to join a well established driving force in software solutions to a number of global brands. You will be an integral part of an innovative development team and be passionate about the solutions and services that you are providing to clients. The position is a vital part of the development team responsible for creating, maintaining and implementing large software projects. You will work alongside the other Developers including the IT Support and Test teams providing technical advice and support to the rest of the team when appropriate. You will be expected to fully integrate yourself within the company and share innovative ideas to any ongoing projects when appropriate and excel expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Support architecture and design decisions

• Deliver high-quality technical solutions to challenging business requirements, with a focus on delivering an excellent customer experience

• Promote the DevOps culture and drive towards enabling continuous delivery within a cross-functional, autonomous team

• Work closely with stakeholders to take ideas from concept through to production-ready features.

• Review code from other team members, promoting best coding practices within the team

• Enhance and maintain existing automated (functional and unit) test suites.

The Scala Engineer will have experience with some of the following:

• Scala, Cats, ZIO, Akka

• Functional Programming Concepts

• ElasticSearch/Kibana

• API Gateways

• Docker

• AWS

• Good knowledge of reactive systems and event-driven architectures
