Role: Principal Data Engineer
Location: Madrid, Spain (hybrid 1-2 days per week)
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: €90,000 - €99,000
Our client started with the purpose of making cities more livable by offering a safe, reliable and efficient alternative to private vehicles. Fast forward to today and they are currently operating with over 20 million users, across 8 countries and 90 cities helping connect riders to drivers at the touch of a single button.
They are looking for a Principal Data Engineer to join one of their data engineering teams where you will focus on the data architecture and infrastructure, which this team is responsible for maintaining.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop end-to-end data solutions and modern data architecture
- Design and develop complex APIs
- Maintain, evolve and validate the data warehouse
- Manage and evolve data infrastructure
- Work alongside other data teams to define, execute and release new services and features
- Be a leader/mentor for the team by being the go to person for all things technical
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Python or Scala
- Extensive experience of streaming processing with Kafka and Apache Beam
- Experience with Automation/IaC tools such as Terraform and Kubernetes
- Experience with common design and architectural patterns
- Experience with cloud technology (Azure, GCP or AWS)
- Experience leading/mentoring a team or individuals
