Engineering Manager / Platform Team / $230,000 / Remote

Job Description

This well funded software technology company is looking to hire a technically strong Engineering Manager to develop and build out their platform engineering team. They build a product that creates an all-in-one place for businesses to manage their data company wide and handle their human resources functions with a focus on privacy and security. Right now they have over 200 companies using the platform nationwide and will be doubling that throughout 2023. The Engineering Manager in this role will be responsible supporting a strong engineering focused culture while also being able to develop staff and create a high-powered team. Someone who has managed teams of 5 to 10 employees will be in the sweet spot for the role.

Required Experience

• 7 - 12 years of backend software engineering experience in high-growth startups
• Minimum of 2 years in an Engineering Manager role
• Technically proficient in NodeJS/TypeScript
• Familiar with working on/managing platform engineering teams in an AWS environment
• Excellent communication skills and detail oriented
• Bachelor's or Masters in Computer Science or similar

• Familiarity with Golang/Ruby on Rails is a plus!
• Demonstrated history working at VC funded startups
• Passionate about the startup space
• Comfortable working 70% People Management (hiring, training, day-to-day tasks) / 30% Hands-on (code-review, best practices and mentorship, on-call)
• Full understanding of the SDLC
• Able to work cross-functionally with product and business teams
