They are looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in London.
Position Overview:
As Data Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. You'll work with large datasets, employing your expertise in Scala, Spark, Hadoop, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to create robust, scalable, and high-performance data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data pipelines, ETL processes, and data models.
- Develop and optimize Scala, Spark, and Hadoop applications for data processing and analysis.
- Leverage your GCP experience to build and maintain cloud-based data solutions.
- Work with functional programming paradigms to ensure efficient and reliable data workflows.
- Troubleshoot and debug data-related issues and optimize existing systems.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance data engineering processes.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field. (Master's degree is a plus)
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, including hands-on experience with Scala, Spark, and Hadoop.
- Proficiency in GCP, including BigQuery, Dataflow, and other GCP services.
- Familiarity with functional programming principles and their application in data engineering.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of the fintech industry and data compliance regulations is advantageous.
Additional Requirements:
- This position is based in London and requires 2 days in the office each week.
- Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
