Job Description

One of our top clients, a leader in providing digital healthcare solutions, is seeking to grow their teams with several, talented Backend Scala Engineers. This is a perfect opportunity for Scala enthusiasts who love to write clean, fast, strong code.

This role will join the team that owns the front door to their Product that users face and handle the capabilities that support it. This team builds the platform that provides product authorizations for their ecosystem. The company is one of the most well-known Scala shops with their backend systems written in Scala.

What you'll do:

  • Write scalable backend code in Scala
  • Develop a unified platform that is foundational to the engineering teams who integrate additional capabilities on top
  • Engage in the entire product lifecycle
  • Deliver shared services for all products in their ecosystem
  • Collaborative closely with developers, architects, and product managers
  • Be a team player amongst talented individual contributors and leaders

Requirements:

  • 4+ years professional experience with Scala
  • Previous experience with Play or Akka a huge plus
  • Experience with high-scale performance and optimization tools and techniques
  • Proven knowledge of database concepts (NoSQL and RDBMS)
  • Experience with distributed systems and application design in a SOA environment.
  • Experience with production debugging and to track down causes and fix them in systematic ways
  • BS in Computer Science or related field
