Job Description

Note: This is a remote opportunity, but the hires must be based in the Tri-State area (NY/NJ/CT) to visit the office as needed.

This organization known for enabling companies to be successful in the global economy is looking for a Backend Scala Engineer that has Functional Scala development experience. They build a unique Platform as a Service for companies involved in transactional markets meant to solve all the complexities of an interconnected financial world. Their systems handle everything related to transactions including: real-time status, security, data, and risk assessment. Any engineer for this role must have a good ability to deliver high-quality code as you will be responsible for core product services and feature needs. In addition to that, being well versed in distributed systems would be integral. Ideally you will be an experienced Functional engineer and be able to serve as a strong backend contributor.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of professional Software Engineering experience
  • Strong with Scala or similar Functional Programming language
  • Experience dealing with Distributed Systems
  • Expert level DSA knowledge
  • Bachelor's or Masters in Computer Science or similar

  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiar working with complex products and applications
  • Comfortable supporting product infrastructure
