About the role
The DevOps Team ensures smooth and secure operation of production and development environments. They utilise DevOps principles and advanced cloud capabilities to support the Platform Infrastructure strategy, focusing on market agility, lean operating principles, and quality to meet client demands. We seek collaborative and creative DevOps Engineers who are passionate about implementing cutting-edge cloud computing. In this highly visible role, you'll interact with all aspects of the business, wearing multiple hats.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of DevOps, TechOps, or SRE experience with 2+ years of AWS experience
- Strong experience with Microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) in production environments
- Proficient in Linux OS-level, command-line scripting, and configuration management
- Familiarity with databases like MongoDB, Postgres, and DynamoDB
- Skilled in architecting, implementing, and managing monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana, CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog, NewRelic, ELK) in the cloud
- Proficient coding skills in Python, Ruby, or Java with a focus on maintainability and reusability
- Experience in compute provisioning using Terraform and/or CloudFormation on a cloud-based platform
- Excellent analytical skills for creative and commercial decision-making
- Previous experience in building a Microservice-based architecture
Responsibilities
- DevOps team member building highly available solutions for an internet-facing fintech site
- Collaborating with Application Developers and QA Automation Engineering to ensure implementation meets specifications
- Developing and maintaining tools for MacOS and Linux environments to improve developer productivity
- Contributing to maintaining site reliability by building scalable systems with resiliency and high availability
- Developing software and tooling to automate and secure cloud infrastructure for seamless software delivery
- Designing and managing Kubernetes environment for container management and orchestration
- Experience in distributed systems design, maintenance, and hands-on troubleshooting/debugging skills
