Signify's Sunday Reads - 22nd March Week #3

Sunday Reads

Amid COVID-19 and a lot of uncertainty we are still here with your weekly Sunday Reads, to keep you up-to-date with all of the best articles in the tech and programming community. This week we seem to be focused on Scala and ZIO.

Friday was the first official day of spring. First up we have the aptly named Spring to ZIO 101 by Adrian Filip, application developer at Oracle, he disucsses an employee combining Scala and ZIO.

Next up we have a really relevant article for anyone thinking about using Scala's option type, as George Leung evaluates the cost, including graphs and code examples. The article is called The cost of Scala Option.

The next article is from Jet Brains a source we don't see very often, called Scala 3 support in IntelliJ Scala pluginPavel Fatin explains how to try the nightly builds

If you want to find out more about ZIO this article from Pascal Mengelt, called What are the benefits of the ZIO modules with ZLayers is perfect as it evaluates the old style and new style.

And last but by no means least an article very relevant today, NE Scala in the Time of Social Distancing by Mark Waks, it is definitely worth a read!
