Let's look at Scala from a newcomer point of view!

Scala is a widely used language however it can be interesting and useful to take a step back and view it from a new perspective. This is exactly what Developer, Jean Helou did at Scala Days Berlin, so let's have a look.

A Birds eye view of the Scala ecosystem

Scala is now pretty much a mature language, industry adoption is expanding from startups and early adopters to more conservative companies at various pace in different countries. The ecosystem has grown a lot in the last few years in multiple direction.

This session takes the point of view of a newcomer to provide a "tour d'horizon" of scala: the libraries, the build tools, IDE support, the community support, etc.

This talk was given by Jean Helou at Scala Days Berlin 2018.
