How to beat the Monday Blues

Blue Clouds Day Fluffy 53594

Sometimes you can wake up on a Monday and just not feel ready for the day at all therefore we have pulled together a small of list of ways to help you beat those Monday Blues and enjoy the week ahead!

Prepare for Monday on a Friday. Try to not leave a line up of tasks to be completed on Monday morning as it will just make it feel that more daunting, towards the end of the day on Friday make a list of all you need to do the following week and work through as many as you can, you might find Monday morning a little bit more chilled.

Make a list of the positives. Over the weekend think about the small things which make you feel better throughout the week whether that’s heading to lunch with a colleague or grabbing your favourite cup of coffee, list them down and focus on those as much as you can.

Get well rested on a Sunday night. No matter what day of the week it is if you wake up feeling exhausted you will not be in a great mindset therefore make sure you get well rested. Try to stay away from technology for an hour before you plan to sleep in order for your brain to switch off making it easier for you to sleep.

Wear the outfit that makes you feel your best on Monday morning. Think of it similar to if you had dinner or drinks plans, you would want to be dressed your best and you wouldn’t leave the house content until you did so on Sunday night plan out your outfit for the next day and make sure it’s one you will be excited to wear.

Don’t just make plans for the weekend. Make plans for throughout the week as well as the weekend, if you can then pack out your week with activities then you will have something to look forward to throughout the day. Whether that’s a new gym class, a catch up with friends or a family movie night.

Don’t skip your morning meal. Set aside a bit of extra time and have a good breakfast, no matter how much you are dreading the week ahead it will only feel a lot worse whilst not being fuelled for the day.

Create a morning playlist. Listen to this whilst you get ready or travel into work, it will give you a morning boost and leave you walking into work feeling that little bit more pumped. Also you may find you actually look forward to the mornings to listen to your favourite songs.

Make the most of your breaks. Step outside for a walk as a bit of fresh air will help clear your head and you can focus on how you will tackle the afternoon in a more calming way rather than feeling glued to your desk and overwhelmed with everything you need to get finished.

Think about whether your job is for you. If you are trying everything you can to make the most of your weeks but you are still waking up dreading it every morning then think about whether the job is right for you.
